“Ts- Tsunade-s-sama!”

Tsunade looked up as a crying Sakura ran into the office.

“Sakura!? What happened!” She wrapped her arms around her student to comfort her as the tears kept streaming down her cheeks.

“M- M- Mikoto-chan- She’s- She’s gone- Th- They took her-”

“What!?”

Tsunade immediately let Sakura go. “When did this happen?”

“A- A while a- ago… Th- They must be- be already gone…”

“Damn… Then it’s too late to send shinobi after them…”

Silence, except for Sakura, sobbing.

“Sakura, please go home, talk with Sasuke, or Ino.” Tsunade took both Sakura’s shoulders and looked at her. “I need to talk about this with the others.”

Sakura nodded and slowly left. Tsunade watched her leave.

- - - - - -

Sir Leader looked up from some documents when someone knocked on his door.

“Enter.”

The group he had send to Sakura came in. So; Itachi, Kisame, Deidara, Tobi, and Hidan. Itachi carried something small.

“That’s the girl?” Leader asked curious, looking at Itachi. Itachi nodded as he walked closer, showing Leader his daughter. His red eyes trailed over the small, sleeping baby.

“Who will take care of her these two weeks?” He asked then.

“I will.” Itachi replied. Leader could hear the sarcasm in his voice, as if he wanted to add a ‘duh’ to his sentence. He snickered.

“Not so offended, Itachi-san.” He said. “You aren’t the mother-type.”

“Deidara is.” Said Kisame with a big grin.

“I swear you, if you’ll say something like that again, I’ll blow you up, yeah.”

“Oh yeah? I’d like to see you try, girl!”

“No problem, fish stick, yeah!”

“Gentlemen!” Leader spoke, making the two others shut up. “Thank you. Now, just don’t make me be annoyed of her cries so I can do my work, okay? The rest doesn’t bother. She will be the best Akatsuki ever when growing up, so take good care, alright?”

“Hai.” Said Kisame, Deidara and Tobi in unison. Itachi and Hidan just nodded.

“Now get out.”

Itachi held his girl close as he walked out of the office, following the others. He listened to their conversation about having children for their own as they went towards the cafeteria.

“I’ll never have children.” Said Hidan, proud by his words. “If I would ever have a girlfriend, and she would be pregnant, I’d leave her.”

“That’s so cruel, yeah!” Said Deidara shocked while gasping. “If my girlfriend would be pregnant, I couldn’t be happier, yeah!”

“I don’t know, I’d probably be happy or something.” Kisame said slowly, a little scared of the subject.

“Tobi is a good boy!” Said Tobi happily. The other three sweat dropped.

Itachi looked back at his girl again. They couldn’t know how they would react. He had reacted way different then he thought he would. Although he never expected to have any kids at all.

“Hey, Itachi, are you still coming or are your eyes glued to that girl of yours?”

Itachi looked up. Kisame stared at his teammate.

“… I’m in my room.” Itachi said, before turning around and walking back.

“He’s even weirder than he used to be…” Muttered Hidan. Kisame nodded agreeing.

- - - - - -

“Sakura… Calm down… Here, sit…”

Sasuke slowly pushed her on the couch as the pink haired kunoichi kept sobbing.

“Can you tell me what happened?” He asked her.

She slowly shook her head. Sasuke looked at her.

“Can I get you something?…”

“W-W-Wat-er…”

He walked to the kitchen and quickly filled a glass with cold water. Then he walked back and gave the glass to her. “Here…”

She took a zip and immediately choked in it, causing her to burst out in coughing. Softly, Sasuke petted her back.

When she finally got back to breath and drank her water, Sasuke looked at her.

“What happened?”

“M- Mikoto-chan… They took her, Sasuke-kun…” She whispered.

Sasuke looked deeply in her eyes.

‘Oh shit, he isn’t believing us.’ Mumbled Inner Sakura. ‘Look at his face. He isn’t believing us!’

‘He IS, shuddup, Inner Me, I can’t use you now!’ Replied Sakura in mind as she tried to keep her sad-face on.

“When did this happen?” He asked her after a long time.

“Early this evening…” She said softly.

“You already told Tsunade?”

“H- Hai.”

Sasuke stood up and began walking through the room.

‘There are a lot of reasons why he took her.’ He thought. ‘Maybe he wants to kill her. But than he didn’t had to take her. …Wait. Of course. She’s his daughter. She can be as deadly as him. He wants to raise her on his own. He doesn’t want her to be a doll from Konoha.’

He stopped walking through his room and looked at Sakura. She looked back, wondering what he was thinking.

“Sakura, I’m sorry to ask you this.” He said. “Did Itachi rape you?”

Shit.

“I- I don’t know, Sasuke-kun…” She said softly.

“You know. Tell me the truth.” He sat down next to her and forced her to look at him, by cupping her chin and turning her head to his. “Did he or did he not rape you?”

“He-… did.”

He looked at her for some seconds before sighing. It was all clear.

“Sakura, I think Itachi kidnapped her. No, I know he did. He wants to raise her because she’s the only child he probably will ever have.” His grip on her chin softened. “I don’t think you will ever see her again.”

Sakura stared at Sasuke. She would see her again, she would. She would never see him again, though. Why did she become Akatsuki? Because she loved Itachi. Why did she love Itachi? …Because Sasuke never gave her love. Up till now.

The tears rolled over her face slowly. They would be gone. Her child wasn’t gone. Her future wasn’t gone. But it was still her hometown. They were still her friends. Here lay all her memories. She couldn’t stop herself and flung her arms around Sasuke, sobbing on his shoulder.

It was a good thing Sasuke thought she was crying over her daughter. He draped his arms around her waist, rocking the both of them gently from left to right, whispering sweet things in her ear. This made her cry even more.

“We’ll never be separated.” She whispered between sobs. Sasuke just nodded in agreement, although her words made him think.

- - - - - -

Itachi, Kisame and Deidara stood around the table, on which Mikoto lay. The girl cried her lungs out, and the three of them had no idea what to do.

“Maybe play a game with her?” Kisame suggested. Deidara slapped him against the back of his head.

“She’s hungry, yeah!”

“I told you that you counted as a woman!”

Meanwhile, Itachi opened the fridge and scanned what food there was left. A lot, for sure. But not something for a teeth-less baby, which actually needed breastfeeding.

“Itachi, isn’t there any soup?” Called Kisame. Itachi noticed some in a can, which you could prepare in the microwave (Akatsuki weren’t great cooks) and took it out.

Mikoto kept crying loudly.

Suddenly, Hidan burst in. “For Jashin’s sake, make it SHUT – UP! Honto!!!”

“We’re working on it, yeah!” Deidara pointed out as Itachi came back, carrying a cup with hot soup and a small spoon.

The four Akatsuki stood there, clueless.

“Well, go feed her.” Said Kisame. Itachi gave Kisame a cold glare before he slowly edged closer to the girl. He placed the bowl next to her on the table and dipped the spoon in the soup. Then, he brought it to her lips.

Mikoto raised her little foot and accidentally kicked the cup with soup from the table, drenching Itachi in the hot liquid. Kisame and Hidan burst out in laughter, while Deidara bit his lip, trying his best not to laugh as well. Happily, Mikoto clapped in her hands from entertainment.

Itachi stood there, not moving, drenched in soup. Then, he slowly turned around to Kisame and Hidan, ready to torture them with the Mangekyou Sharingan.

“Ehehe… Itachi, please, yeah… I’ll go and get some more soup ok, yeah?” Deidara tried to calm him down. Itachi let out an annoyed ‘hn’ while he watched Kisame and Hidan getting back their breath. Kisame wiped a little tear of joy away.

“That was the damned funniest thing I have ever seen! Honto!” Hidan chuckled. Kisame petted Mikoto on the head. “Good girl!”

“Kisame… Do you have a death wish?” Itachi asked on a dangerous tone. Kisame swallowed hard.

“I- I don’t…”

“Then shut up.”

Deidara came back with more soup and looked at the others, in an asking way. “Who’s going to feed her now, yeah?”

“Um… I have to continue my ritual.” Hidan quickly said, while he ran out.

“I’m going to change, my clothes are drenched.” With that, Itachi followed Hidan, out of the cafeteria.

Kisame and Deidara exchanged looks.

“You do it, yeah.” Said Deidara as he tried to push the bowl in Kisame’s hands.

“No way! You are the one with female instincts!” Kisame replied, while trying to give it back.

“But you had experience, yeah! Just- Just see her as mister Tinkles and feed her, yeah!”

“That’s something different, mister Tinkles is a fish!”

“Well you are a fish too, yeah!!”

Are they ever going to feed her?’ Wondered the Leader, as he silently walked pass them to get himself some food.

- - - - - -

“We’ll never be separated.”

‘She’s leaving.’

Sasuke sat on the edge of her bed, watching Sakura sleep. Her eyes were closed, and her chest moved up and down slowly. He softly stroked some pink strands out of her face.

His love for her was growing and he knew it. He cursed himself for feeling those emotions. He couldn’t love anyone. He couldn’t let anyone grow close to him. He was an avenger. But still, she was the only one who could make him happy. If happiness was supposed to be for Uchiha Sasuke. It seemed that his life was only full of sadness and terror.

“You want to go and get her, don’t you? …Well, I’ll get her back for you.” He whispered, although Sakura couldn’t hear him. She was lost in her own world.

“And with that, I’ll avenge my clan. I promise.”

- - - - - -

Sakura and Sasuke visited a lot of people then. Naruto and Hinata. Ino and Shikamaru. Neji and Tenten. Lee, Chouji, Kiba, Shino, Kakashi, Tsunade, Kurenai and Asuma; everyone. It seemed like a goodbye for Sakura, but she didn’t tell. Especially when they left Naruto and Hinata’s house.

“G- Goodbye, Sakura-chan.” Hinata smiled sweetly and offered polite her hand to Sakura. Sakura didn’t accept it, but pulled the girl into a hug. “Bye, Hinata. Make sure Naruto doesn’t do anything stupid!” Sakura said smiling broadly. Hinata nodded quickly.

“Take good care, alright, Sakura-chan?” The blonde next-being Hokage wrapped his arms around his teammate. Sakura smiled as she hugged Naruto back.

“I will.”

She looked over Naruto’s shoulder how Sasuke and Hinata made a quick goodbye to each other by shaking hands.

Slowly, Naruto and Sakura let go of each other. He grinned his oh so famous grin. She smiled back at him, but he could see sadness in her beautiful green eyes.

“Sakura-chan, don’t worry, after Tsunade no baa-chan is done with that stupid long discussion of hers, we’ll go and rescue little Mikoto!” Naruto gave her the thumbs up. “Dattebayo!”

“…Thank you, Naruto.” She gave him a peck on the cheek quickly. “I trust you with whole my heart.”

He grinned once again, a little sheepishly. Then he turned to Sasuke.

“I’ll see ya later, Sasuke-bastard.”

“Whatever, dobe.”

“Don’t call me a dobe!”

When they finally left, Naruto and Hinata watched them walk off together.

“This looked like they are leaving, didn’t it?” Naruto said softly against his girlfriend. Hinata slowly nodded, not taking her eyes off the Uchiha and the Haruno.

“Yes.”

- - - - - -

“Sakura. Wake up.”

Sakura slowly opened her eyes. Sasuke’s face hung above hers.

“Sasuke-kun?… How late is it?…”

“It’s four am. Listen, we have to go.”

“… Go?”

“I want to take you somewhere.”

“Take me somewhere, what do you mean?”

“I’ll tell you later, just get dressed, and take your ninja equipment with you.”

Sasuke walked out of her room. Sakura raised her shoulders and slowly got out of bed.

After a quick shower, she dressed into her usual clothing; Her black shorts and beige skirt, and her red top. Her dark gloves and her ninja sandals. Then, she bound her forehead protector in her hair. She picked up her small bag with ninja equipment and attached it to her skirt. Then, she went to the living room.

Sasuke was already there, fully dressed, eating a sandwich.

“Here.” He said, giving her a sandwich as well.

“Thank you, Sasuke-kun. But…” She bit her lip. “Where are we going?”

“You’ll see. I-… need you with this.” He decided.

She stared at him.

“Come.” He led her out of the house and they met the early morning, off to a meeting Sakura would never forget…
